The best gift I ever received was my very first digital camera, a trusty Canon Powershot, which I still carry in my pocket at all times. I never want to miss that *perfect moment* for a shot...which as you may know, can creep up rather spontaneously! I say to others that "I see the world through snapshots", meaning I'm constantly scanning my surroundings for THE perfect photo, which often times, is something so obscure and ugly to others yet I see it as extremely beautiful.

For me, stepping in front of the lens was a natural progression in my love of photography. Although awkward at first to be *on display*, I soon found it was much easier to convey the image in my mind when I was in control as the subject of the shot. I'm very fond of black and white, artistic, *ugly*/unconventional beauty, emotive shots and would absolutely love to pursue this type of shoot!

I'm a Psychology student at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario but occasionally travel back to the GTA for a couple weeks at a time (i.e. holidays, summer).
