Steven J Ross

I started as a Photojournalist in the early 80's working for Bay Area Music (BAM) Magazine in San Francisco as well as freelanced with the daily and weekly newspapers throughout the Bay Area peninsula. Today I have a studio in downtown Saint Paul, MN.

Studio 143 was founded to combine my photography and cinematography passions.

2009 - Produced the 48 Hour Film Project Minneapolis, Writer on 'Scavengers' film by YAFI Underground.


2008 - Produced and assisted in directing a collaboration with the Vanderclef group on ”Martin Perkinson: Thinker”, we were awarded 'Audience Favorite' at the 48 Hour Film Project Minneapolis. The film premiered at the Shamrock Film Festival, The Square Lake Film Festival and the South Dakota Film Festival.

Assisted in the collaboration with Footprints Media on “From the Pacific to the Prairie” Documentary on the USS Minneapolis for the Minnesota Historical Societies Greatest Generation Project.

Produced in collaboration with One Ring Productions on “The Last Frame” for the National Film Challenge.

Produced a national PSA “Have You Had One of Those Days” to encourage voter turn out.

2007 - Assisted in collaboration with Vanderclef group, “Bad Day” for the 24 Hour Minneapolis Film Race.
