About Me
As I am touring, & travel throughout the year I am most easily contacted through Facebook :)

Hello, and meows.
This is Merq, ie Mercury Mad. I would say I am "from" Kansas City
but I have been know to travel anywhere my art may lead me.
I have been doing theatrical makeup, including some latex / horror since I could hold a brush. Have had some formal training in Theatrical makeup at University of Kansas. As of yet I am looking for jobs for trades / experience to build my portfolio.
My primary focus for the last ten years or so has been Club Kids / 80's 90's club, and brushed costume style makeup. I have worked Music Theatre as well as some Fashion shows. I am currently looking to expand a bit and do more work in the way of fashion instead of simply performance or Club Art.
There's a slightly historical and dumb bio below but it will give you an idea of my "roots". Feel free to google Mercury Mad for any other info you may feel you need.
-------- Older Bio Below adapted from mercurymad.com ------------
Mercury Mad is currently incorporating all that he's learned since his days of Music Theater to his current gypsy musical & visual lifestyle.
Neither the theatrics or musicality of Mad's own shows should come as any surprise to those who know his history. The young singer/guitarist who played the Plant in "Little Shop of Horrors" in high school went on to study Graphic Design and Music Comp at KSU.
A love of performance and the stage caused Mercury to transfer to The University of Kansas and choose his major in Theatre & Film. Theatre would be the melting pot for Mad and his juggling various art forms which along with music and performance would include a love for makeup and costuming.
Mercury Mad found artistic inspiration when he became the make-up artist for a University production of Vaclav Havel's "Temptation" a job that required precision and creativity in the delicate art that would come to mean so much to his on and off-stage persona.
