About Me
In my pre-teens, I fell head-over-heels in love with rock'n'roll and acting. In retrospect ten years later, I realize what the two have in common besides the stage. First, it's the adrenaline of the audience - to be the fighting protagonist with an entire sea of support. After living in 11 different cities in 6 different countries in the first 11 years of my life, I longed for acceptance and belonging. I found it in acting and in performing and listening to rock music and going to concerts. Second, it's complete rebirth - both are spiritual experiences. Being enigmatic, dynamic, versatile is not sinful in the acting, music, and modeling industry. Rather, it is a strength, a virtue. I could explore dimensions of myself I had never exposed. This self-exploration itself would be an artistic process.
I picked up my first fashion magazine around the same time. But as an awkward, chubby 11 year old, the fashion world was ethereal, separate, and distant. As years progressed, however, I was exposed to different styles of modeling and photography, by the likes of Kate Moss and Mario Sorrenti, that were not as commercial, plastic, whitened-teethed, breast implanted ... you get the idea. Rather, these photographs brought out the world as I saw it - a beautiful world perfected by its flaws. These photographs celebrated 'imperfections' and brought out raw, natural charm. And I became more and more enchanted. I started out experimenting with self-portraits, trying to capture such complex feelings in myself, as a means of self-expression. I fell in love with photography and carried a camera with me everywhere. But I yearned to involve myself more in the pictures.
So, after a few make-up and hair modeling gigs and two runway shows, I've finally broken free of anxiety over my imperfections. I want to work with photographers to do the same thing I have done in acting and rock music - evoke feelings in the observers and capture something special that allows the observer to learn as much or more about themselves as the photographer and I have in the artistic process.
I hope to meet photographers looking to expand their portfolios and explore new concepts. I realize I do not have a glamour or commercial look, so the more eccentric, the better! This website is a fantastic opportunity to meet talented photographers, and to be inspired by more experienced models!
